Interiors - MIM Design

Location - Mermaid Beach, Queensland

Located on a prime corner site in the beachside locale of Mermaid Beach, Prominence offers a striking collection of eight generously proportioned beach and parkside residences where the site's natural beauty is effortlessly integrated throughout the design. Inspired by the fluid, organic nature of the surrounding ocean and landforms, Prominence adopts a sophisticated, sculptural form that is expressed through its subtle curves, textural palette, rhythmic expression, and immersive landscaping.

In order to capture the full experience of Prominence from its broader context down to its intricate detailing, the render brief included a set of 11 3D renders along with a mini-walkthrough of a typical apartment using our in-house display software. With movement and flow being a key focus of the design, the walkthrough presented a great opportunity to assist potential buyers in visualising this fluidity which is expressed throughout the design from its spatial planning down to the individual details such as the sculpted stone island bench.

For the interiors, we worked closely alongside Mim Design to ensure that the resulting imagery accurately reflected the intricate details of the design and finishes. Samples of all finishes were sent to us by Mim which allowed us to create custom digital textures for each material from the natural stone down to the fabric furnishings. To create a cohesive visual language, we also custom-modelled specific furniture pieces which were curated by Mim Design for the render brief.

Externally, similar attention was paid to ensure that the renders accurately reflected the carefully curated finishes and elegant architectural detailing of the building. Lighting played an important role, where soft morning light was used to delicately highlight the metal accents and glazing, and emphasize the subtle curves which dance across the linear facade.
